From
the school-level Teachers of the Year, 10 have been named
semi-finalists for the title of Horry County Schools’ Teacher of the
Year. Semi-finalists will be interviewed by a panel and will be asked
to produce artifacts of student achievement. Following interviews, five
finalists will be selected on March 3. Following a series of classroom
observations, the district winner will be announced at the Teacher of
the Year banquet on May 6.
Top 10 semi-finalists are: Chris Plowman, Aynor Elementary; Timothy Peterman, Carolina Forest Elementary; James Philon, Carolina Forest High; Landra Upchurch, Forestbrook Elementary; Etta Greene, Green Sea Floyds High; Jean Burden, Loris Middle; Lynn Auman, Myrtle Beach Middle; Janet Calder, Ocean Bay Elementary; Anthony Rito, Socastee Elementary; and Allie Hilliard, Socastee High.Click here to see a complete list of all of the school level Teachers of the Year.
