FAQ'S
What is the process after my application is submitted to the Coastal Workforce Center? Following the deadline of a position, the applications are sent to the Horry County Schools District Office for screening. A staffing coordinator reviews the applications for the particular vacancy. To be considered for any position, an individual must submit a complete application. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Once the screening process is complete, the applications are sent to the appropriate hiring manager located at the school or district office.
What is a support staff position? Support staff vacancies are also known as classified positions and are based on an hourly wage.
Will I be notified about a position that I apply for? Not necessarily.
What is considered an "internal applicant?" An internal applicant is an employee who is either part-time with benefits or full-time with benefits and may submit a letter of interest, if eligible, for a support staff vacancy. Substitute teachers and/or substitute cafeteria and custodian workers are not considered "internal applicants."
What is a letter of interest? A letter of interest is a brief application letter that is submitted when a current employee, either part-time with benefits or full-time with benefits, is interested in applying for a support staff vacancy for which they are eligible.
Can substitute teachers and/or substitute cafeteria and custodian workers submit a letter of interest? No. Those already operating in a substitute capacity for Horry County Schools must submit an application to the Coastal Workforce Center and follow the support staff application process if interested in applying for a support staff vacancy.
