Dear Parent(s):
We are pleased to announce that Waccamaw Elementary and Daisy Elementary have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress for two consecutive years and are no longer in School Improvement.
In previous years, when Daisy Elementary and Waccamaw Elementary did not achieve AYP, the school and district offered parents the option of school choice. School choice allowed parents to transfer their child(ren) to designated schools. Since Daisy Elementary and Waccamaw Elementary are no longer in School Improvement, school choice will not be offered in the 2011-2012 school year. However, School Choice and transportation will continue through Thursday, June 2nd , 2011. Your child may continue attending the school of choice through 5th grade, but you will be responsible for providing transportation. In addition, you will need to request a transfer through the Office of Student Affairs, for each year your child continues attending the school of choice you previously selected. Upon completion of grade 5, your child will attend the middle school in your designated attendance area.
