Accountability Services
Assessment Center

Is my child where she needs to be in mathematics? Did James meet the standard in English language arts on PACT? How does my child's school compare with other schools in the district? in South Carolina?

To help teachers and principals answer questions like these for parents, Horry County Schools established the Office of Accountability Services. Staff members at the Assessment Center work with schools and the Department of Learning Services to implement testing and measurement initiatives that will increase student learning and improve school effectiveness.

What's New?

Help on EXPLORE, PLAN & ACT
EXPLORE is the first part of a testing system that goes on to include PLAN and the ACT. Typically, students take EXPLORE in the 8th or 9th grade, PLAN as 10th graders, and the ACT as juniors or seniors.
