The adult education program is open to any person who is at least eighteen years old and who is not currently enrolled in a regular high school program. Students may enroll at any time during the year. Check the schedule of the location nearest you. Students who are seventeen may be eligible to attend adult education. 17-year-old students must meet with an adult education teacher and determine whether adult education is an option. Call 488-6200 to schedule an appointment. The student must bring a parent/guardian and a transcript from his/her high school. A fifteen-dollar registration fee is charged to all students. A twenty-five dollar course fee is charged for each high school course or GED area. Students must fulfill the requirements for a high school diploma that are in effect at the time of the student's graduation. These also include a state residency requirement. The Adult Education program has a county-wide graduation ceremony in which graduates of all the centers participate;the ceremony is held for those graduates who have earned either a diploma, certificate, or GED. No distinction is made between credintials for graduates. All graduates are encouraged to paticipate in spring graduation. Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 29, at 7:00 pm. |
