| | | Home >> About Us >> Superintendent search | | | | | | | | The Horry County Board of Education will host a series of nine community meetings, one in each attendance area, to enable all members of the community to be a part of a special discussion about the selection of a new superintendent for Horry County Schools. Participants will be asked to provide input regarding the experience, characteristics, and skills that are most important for the new superintendent. Meetings are as follows: - February 6: St. James Community, St. James High School, 7 p.m.
- February 8: Loris Community, Loris High School, 7 p.m.
- February 8: Socastee Community, Socastee High School, 7 p.m.
- February 15: Conway Community, Conway High School, 7 p.m.
- February 15: Green Sea Floyds Community, Green Sea Floyds High School, 7 p.m.
- February 20: Aynor Community, Aynor High School, 7 p.m.
- February 20: Carolina Forest Community, Carolina Forest High School, 7 p.m.
- February 27: Myrtle Beach Community, Myrtle Beach High School, 7 p.m.
- February 27: North Myrtle Beach Community, North Myrtle Beach High School, 7 p.m.
For more information about the meetings, please call 488.6776 or e-mail search@do.hcs.k12.sc.us. if you are unable to attend any of the meetings listed above but would like to submit a response to the following question: "As the school board embarks on the process of screening applicants for the position of superintendent and the ultimate decision of selecting the superintendent, what advice would you give the school board concerning the selection process and the desired qualities of a superintendent?"
