Local school board members recognized for training
August 2, 2007

Members of the Horry County Board of Education were recognized by the South Carolina School Boards Association for their participation in the Boardmanship Institute.

Board members Kay Loftus and Charles Hucks reached Level Five, the second highest recognition in the Boardmanship Institute. Harvey Eisner reached Level Two and Joe DeFeo reached Level One.

The SCSBA’s Boardmanship Institute offers year-round training programs to help school board members better understand and more effectively act upon issues related to governance for their local schools.
