"Reaching the heart of a child is an ongoing process and one I will never take for granted. It is not a separate entity from teaching but an important part that must be included in the learning environment. Once the students are comfortable and have trust in me, the mutual respect we have for each other will bring about high expectations for learning. If I had to do it all over again, I would still become a teacher. There is no greater pleasure than making a difference in the life of a child.” ~ Cathy Vaughn Cathy Vaughn has been teaching for 11 years, all of them in Horry County. She has a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University; and a Masters of Education in Literacy, Reading and Writing, and a Masters of Education in Educational Technology from Leslie University. She is currently pursuing National Board Certification. (Read more about Vaughn in The Sun News.)
