Hospitality students win second place in national competition

North Myrtle Beach High School’s Lodging Management Team won second place at the American Hotel and Lodging National Competition held on April 11-13 in Orlando, Florida. The team competed against 10 other teams from across the nation in the three-day event that allows outstanding students to demonstrate their knowledge and various skill sets needed for advancement within the lodging industry.

Earlier this year, the team was named best in state at the South Carolina Hospitality Student Invitational Lodging Management Competition. Their first-place win was the school’s third in four years.

Team members include, Brittany Wilhelm, Dustin Johansen, and Jean McInnis. The team advisor is hospitality instructor Connie Porter.
